Job Description
We’re excited to offer an opportunity to become part of the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne or Sydney office. As Commercial Director, you will lead the commercial and procurement outcomes for utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects across Australia, specifically in project delivery and connection workstreams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, Finance, or related field
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in procurement, commercial, or business development roles within renewables or energy infrastructure
- Proven track record in sourcing, negotiating, and managing large-scale EPC, construction or supply contracts (AUD 100M+)
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation ability, and financial skills
- Demonstrated ability to structure and close complex commercial transactions with contractors and major suppliers
- Familiarity with Australian regulatory frameworks, energy markets, risk management and ESG standards
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable engaging at executive levels internally and externally
