Job Description
Correction Sergeant/Counselor - works under general supervision, leads correction officers, and provides guidance and coordination of activities for incarcerated individuals. The role involves making rounds, monitoring compliance, promoting sanitation, and preventing escapes. The Correction Sergeant/Counselor also provides counseling and rehabilitation, investigates complaints, and facilitates activities for incarcerated individuals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. in enforcing security measures for detention of felons
- Unarmed self-defense training
- Firearms training
- Mental health training
- Commercial driver's license for assigned vehicle operations
