Financial Counselor

This position provides face-to-face interaction with patients and/or their families regarding point-of-service collections, financial assistance programs, Medicaid eligibility and qualifications. As a lead, it is responsible for handling direct patient inquiries for non-clinical related issues and working with outside eligibility vendors.

Requirements

• High School or GED (Required)
• 3 to 5 years of equivalent Experience
• Analytical skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to visit patient rooms and walk 1 hour per day
• Communication skills (verbal written. telephone) necessary to explain policies or procedures, relay patients needs to appropriate personnel, or otherwise communicate with others in situations requiring sensitivity and tact
• Basic computer typing skills
• Ability to follow the work of other staff members
• Understanding of basic office machines (photocopies, fax, phone)
