Dock Supervisor

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Dock Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure safety, and drive efficiency within their freight network. The role involves managing teams, utilizing innovative technology, and maintaining operational excellence.

Requirements

• Monitor and evaluate the safety of each employee on a daily basis
• Manage dock employees to ensure proper utilization of employees, equipment, and meeting customer expectations
• Maintain housekeeping within the shift to ensure safety and productivity
• Closely work with the Operations Manager to ensure alignment in meeting business objectives
• Provide analyses, suggestions, and ideas for the improvement of operations
• Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Ensure 100% of trailers are loaded correctly to ensure safe transport of freight
• Operate AS400 system, BLU system, DYMS and other computer/internal freight monitoring systems
• Complete forklift job training knowledge and uses a forklift as necessary
• Conducts daily shift meetings
• Make quick and informed decisions based on volume levels and communicates schedule to affected employees
• Inspects working conditions of tools and equipment needed for safe operation
• Comprehends and ensures compliance with company and government regulations
