Job Description
We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to cover and treat behavioral health patients in the Emergency Department and provide consultative services for patients with co-morbid psychiatric illnesses admitted to the medical/surgical floors.
Requirements
- Prescribes medication
- Implements patient teaching
- Facilitates next-care linkages, referrals and/or admissions
- Provides consultative services for patients with co-morbid psychiatric illnesses
- Possesses analytical skills to evaluate care needs
- Gathers relevant clinical data
- Evaluates laboratory data
- Makes sound clinical recommendations
- Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Exhibits good judgment and tact in dealing with patients, families, and working with multidisciplinary teams
- Feels comfortable working independently
- Has inpatient and/or ED experience
