The Site Engineer will support the site management of all electrical construction, maintenance, fitting and removal of plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with construction drawings, documents and specifications, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Support the site management of all electrical construction, maintenance, fitting and removal of plant and equipment
- Manage CDM areas and safety of all in it
- Deliver Daily Briefs, Point of Work Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks etc.
- Take responsibility for the team whilst on site to ensure the safe, effective and efficient implementation of site operations
- Support the Management Team to ensure all materials and supplies are procured / provided by the Construction Manager to avoid delays and maintain efficient working of the team
- Ensure deliveries are only accepted on undamaged materials and report daily deliveries to help with financing
- Support the Management Team to ensure all construction and demolition work complies with RAMS, lifting plans, drawings and specifications
- Display responsibility for receipt of permits and limitations of access with relevant authority
- Undertake basic safety inspection before commencement of works
- Supervise and assist with construction, maintenance, and fitting of plant and equipment to ensure works are delivered to a high-quality standard
- Liaise problems and solutions with safety and design teams
- Assist the Construction Manager with ongoing quality control by maintaining / completing documentation detailed within the Inspection & Test Plan
- Maintain and develop competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards
- Attend training as required to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures
- Deliver scheduled / unscheduled work to time and standard in accordance with instructions
- Comply with all Omexom H&SE standards, Quality Standards, Operational Procedures and Policies
- Perform Site Document Controller duties – sorting and storing drawings
- Support with the chairing of site meetings with clients at site progress meetings
- Actively contribute to your team, sharing knowledge and experience, monitoring progress and providing support for others
- Check and prepare job reports for management and clients
- Promptly make safe where it’s safe to do so, then record all accidents, hazards and near misses in line with Omexom Policy
- Lead by example with Safety Behaviour and Management. Encourage safe working, reporting of hazards and innovations. Report any concerns regarding Quality, Safety, Health or the Environment to the Construction Manager or nominated representative
- Be proactive regarding site safety, including compiling Site Inspections, Near Misses and Positive Interventions
- Ensure use of all machinery, equipment, substances, transport and plant appropriately and in line with RAMS, manufacturer’s instructions, company guidance and training
- Provide a mentoring support role to apprentices in compliance with their training and development program
- Proactively drive personal development through the appraisal system (Check-In)
