Sr Principal Technical Support Engineer (Knowledge of Advanced Process Control)

Aspen Technology is seeking a Sr Principal Technical Support Engineer to join our industry leading Advanced Process Control software support team. The ideal candidate should be an innovative thinker, demonstrate high initiative, have great communication skills and work to the highest ethical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
• 8-12+ years of relevant experience in process industries such as refining, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing
• Hands-on experience working in or supporting real-world plant, manufacturing, or industrial environments
• Prior experience with AspenTech software or comparable advanced process control or industrial software from other vendors
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering and process control concepts
• Experience with APC/DCS interface design, implementation, and application architecture
• Solid knowledge of industrial systems and architectures
• Ability to work confidently with data collection, data manipulation, and variable transformation to support analysis and decision-making
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated coaching and collaboration skills
• Customer-first mindset
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel
