Job Description
Orb is seeking a Flight and Hardware Test Director to join their mission-driven team, reindustrializing the Midwest as Michigan’s first airframe prime since the Second World War. This role involves supporting the physical, electrical, and environmental testing of materials, components, and full product assemblies, while also acting as a remote Pilot in Command to fly prototype air vehicles. The position will contribute to the design, build, test, and manufacturing process, and integrate advanced design tools.
Requirements
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Part 107 qualified
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical methods, and technical writing
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition
- Ability to fabricate tools, fixtures, and apparatus
- Familiarity with various sensors
- Strong background in systems, electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering
- Experience with material and environmental testing
- Experience using Siemens NX or Similar CAD Package
- Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, consumer electronic, or robotics-based product development
