The Principal Engineer - Controls is responsible for leading the exploration of applicable technologies and systems for vehicle control strategies, developing and implementing advanced strategies and system level requirements for vehicle control systems, and managing controls schedules for projects. The role involves collaborating with software engineering and other engineering groups, as well as external component suppliers, to deliver results according to Oshkosh and industry engineering standards and processes. The Principal Engineer - Controls is responsible for preparing and delivering plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting, and providing guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers. The role also involves researching, creating, and updating standard engineering methodology and procedures, as well as establishing requirements and developing control strategies using modeling tools and hardware-in-the-loop simulators.
