Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Diesel Technology

Teaching faculty at Owens Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The applicant will be responsible for quality instruction and effective participation in the college's total affairs. This position requires teaching undergraduates in Diesel Technology.

Requirements

• Classroom and lab instruction in diesel technology
• Knowledge of diesel technology, engine repair, transmission, drive train, suspension, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, and heating & air conditioning
• Demonstrated knowledge of teaching different learning styles
• Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and computer operations skills
• Ability to integrate methodologies, understand community college students, manage a classroom, and follow instructions
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility
• Embodiment of Owens core values: service, learning, innovation, collaboration, and excellence
• Industry Certification by ASE or Manufacturer, or 2-4 years experience in diesel technology
