The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material inside and outside the facility, working closely with manufacturing departments to ensure parts are available when needed. The role includes material handling, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Material handling – moving parts throughout the facility using pallet jacks, fork trucks, etc.
- Shipping – packing and organizing parts for shipments, loading trucks, completing required paperwork, ensuring proper documentation, etc.
- Receiving – unloading trucks, verifying proper documentation, etc.
- Inventory and reconciliation
- Problem solving ability through teamwork
- Maintain accurate records
- Operates industrial forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and product.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or label to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines and equipment
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
- Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate in the Continuous Quality process
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely manner
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
