EMT BASIC - Part Time

EMTs provide emergency medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including emergency medical vehicle transport and non-emergency situations. They are responsible for performing physical examinations, making differential diagnoses, and providing therapy to preserve life. EMTs must also maintain effective communication with physicians and follow standard written protocols when a physician cannot be contacted.

Requirements

• EMT / EMT-B certification
• CPR for the Health Care Provider
• Good knowledge of street systems, addresses, and physical layout of the area
• Good ability to perform technical medical skills with high accuracy
• Understand and effectively deal with emotional and medical needs of victims
• Maintain a professional and objective approach to patient care
• Learn new concepts in rescue and medical skills and techniques
• Direct the work of and teach other personnel
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions and orders
• Maintain a professional attitude when representing the Company
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
• Drive and operate emergency ambulance units
• Author reports with narrative and numeric information
