Job Description
Surgical Technicians assist physicians during surgical procedures by anticipating the physician’s needs to ensure the procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible, under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Requirements
- Transports patients safely to and from the surgical areas
- Prepares patient care areas and gurneys for safe and sanitary patient use
- Prepares and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures
- Performs needle counts, sponge counts and instrument counts with the supervising RN in the operating room
- Follows all federal, state, and departmental safety and sanitation guidelines
