Staff SWE, Fraud Intelligence Systems

PayPal is looking for a Staff SWE, Fraud Intelligence Systems to lead the technical efforts in designing and developing systems and pipelines essential for acquiring and processing fraud intelligence data.

Requirements

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree
• Deep expertise in BigQuery SQL, scripting, and partitioning/clustering strategies
• Experience in orchestration with Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataform, or dbt
• Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Proficiency in designing and developing data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark and technologies such as BigQuery
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, Golang, and familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks for data manipulation and analysis
• Proven ability to design, build, and interact with RESTful APIs for seamless data acquisition and processing
• Expertise in data manipulation and transformation, dimensional modeling, and semantic modeling
• Experience in researching and analyzing fraud or cyber threat intelligence data to enhance preventative measures
• Track record of innovating and implementing technical solutions that advance fraud prevention strategies
• Excellent ability to collaborate cross-functionally and articulate complex technical concepts clearly
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity in rapidly changing technology landscapes and focused on continuous improvement and agile methodologies
• Implement validation frameworks and comprehensive pipeline observability with cost-aware design
