The Team Lead β Shipping is responsible for overseeing daily outbound fulfillment operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed, documented, and shipped accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Lead, coach, and support shipping associates in daily fulfillment activities
- Assign tasks, monitor throughput, and ensure shipping deadlines and schedules are met
- Train new team members on shipping procedures, systems, and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping area aligned with warehouse standards
- Escalate shipment delays, staffing concerns, or operational risks to the Warehouse Manager
- Oversee picking, packing, and staging of outbound orders based on sales orders and schedules
- Verify item accuracy, quantities, serial numbers, and required documentation prior to shipment
- Ensure correct generation of shipping labels, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOLs)
- Coordinate daily carrier pickups (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight carriers) and resolve routine carrier issues
- Confirm proper packaging and labeling to prevent damage during transit
- Ensure shipment status updates are accurately recorded in ERP/WMS systems
- Monitor order accuracy, on-time shipment metrics, and documentation quality
- Investigate and resolve basic shipping discrepancies or delivery issues
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to shipping errors or damages
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
