AI Agent Engineer

Pelago is seeking an AI Agent Engineer to lead the transformation of workflows and automate processes using AI. The role involves identifying high-friction internal workflows, designing and building AI-powered systems, and integrating LLMs into real operational processes. The ideal candidate has experience building production-grade software systems, strong Python skills, and experience with AI-powered workflows.

Requirements

• Experience building production-grade software systems
• Strong Python skills and experience designing event-driven or distributed systems
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered workflows
• Experience integrating systems via APIs, message queues, or workflow engines
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deploying containerized services
• Solid understanding of security, privacy, and data controls in regulated environments
• Systems thinking and ability to translate messy real-world processes into scalable technical solutions
• Pragmatic building and prototyping skills with a focus on responsible shipping
• Passion for using AI to create measurable operational impact
