The Animal Care Supervisor - Comparative Medicine is responsible for supervising daily laboratory services and operations, including ensuring equipment and instrumentation is maintained, creating and updating procedural manuals, training and supervising staff, contributing to diagnostic services and research-specific laboratory testing, and assisting with developing and reconciling budgets.

- Perform quantitative and qualitative chemical, hematological, microbiological, and microscopic analysis on various animal specimens
- Refine and adapt testing methodologies as necessary
- Prepare specimens for offsite testing
- Coordinate laboratory diagnostics phase of sentinel animal program
- Assist with developing, monitoring, and reconciling operational budgets
- Maintain awareness of animal science laboratory industry trends and regulatory requirements
- Update SOPs, guidelines, manuals, policies, and procedures
- Conduct training
