Art Collections Assistant

The Art Collections Assistant will work closely with the EMS Museum curator to conduct a detailed inventory of the Steidle Collection of American Industrial Art, including researching the art and artists, identifying object housing and storage needs, creating digital images as needed, and creating or updating collections management database records.

Requirements

• Background in early to mid-century American art or industrial history—or an interest in learning
• Ability to navigate new software platforms
• Basic computer and communication skills
• Ability to conduct research relating using print and online sources
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs., sit or stand for extended periods, maintain attention to detail for prolonged periods, read cursive writing, and write legibly.
