The Department of Biobehavioral Health is seeking a Lab Coordinator in Dr. Hannah Schreier's laboratory. The lab focuses on understanding the biological underpinnings of adverse experiences on youth and young adult chronic disease risk with an emphasis on functional immune outcomes.
Requirements
- Perform whole blood cultures and culture harvests
- Run multiplex and ELISA assays, including use of the Ella equipment
- Clean, process, and analyze data
- Maintain and oversee quality control measures and standard operating procedures in the lab for all lab personnel
- Adjust existing protocols and develop new laboratory protocols for ongoing projects as well as grant renewals
- Maintain supplies of necessary materials, primarily lab consumables (gloves, pipette tips, etc.)
- Monitor and track laboratory expenditures across ongoing studies; reconcile supplies and equipment purchased to invoices and purchase card statements.
- Monitor project progress and research and suggest solutions as challenges arise
- Serve as an indirect supervisor to one full-time Research Technologist, graduate students, and undergraduate students, who will include training, scheduling, and overseeing task completion.
