Job Description
A part-time position is available in the Beyer/Vieira Lab in the Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology, with duties including lab work and research assistance, as well as opportunities to gain hands-on experience in mushroom cultivation processes.
Requirements
- 6-10 hours per week
- Washing dishes, sterilizing and disposing of laboratory waste
- Making media, using sterile techniques to grow bacteria
- Washing plant pots
- Extraction of viral nucleic acids from mushroom samples
- Reverse transcription reactions
- PCR and qPCR assays
