Head of Product Engineering

The Head of Product Engineering role at Pepperstone is a pivotal leadership position that requires a strong technical and people leader to shape the company's global technology evolution. The role involves leading a high-performing global engineering team, driving execution of transformation initiatives, and ensuring platforms are highly available, performant, and secure.

Requirements

• 7–10 years' experience in senior engineering leadership roles
• Deep expertise in modern engineering organisational design, contemporary software development methodologies, and Agile delivery practices
• Proven experience leading leaders and managing large, globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones and cultures
• Experience with modern technology stacks including React, NextJS, Kafka, Postgres (RDBMS), and architectural patterns such as microservices and containerisation
• Strong knowledge of adjacent technology domains, including AWS cloud computing, container orchestration platforms, and cybersecurity principles
• A track record of driving innovation and leading significant technical change across an organisation
• Solid understanding of financial markets and regulatory frameworks (experience in regulated environments highly regarded)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Ability to champion Pepperstone's operating principles and foster a high-performance, values-led culture
• Willingness to travel internationally and operate flexibly across global time zones
