Network Administrator, Journeyman

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Network Administrator Journeyman to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard. Monitor WAN links, IP networks, circuits, and enterprise services within 24/7 NOC operations to ensure availability, security, and performance.

What You Will Do

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, web proxies, VoIP systems, and virtual infrastructure across CONUS and state ICANs. Execute hardware replacements, software updates, device reconfiguration, and endpoint management for NIPRNet and SIPRNet modernization tasks.

Candidate must meet ONE of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering; OR Relevant DoD/military training; OR Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• Network engineering/administration or NOC operations experience supporting enterprise or DoD environments
• Hands-on experience with routing/switching, firewall/VPN configuration, VoIP system administration, DNS, and virtualization platforms
• Practical knowledge of STIG application, patching cycles, vulnerability scanning (ACAS/Nessus), and RMF evidence practices
• Proficiency with monitoring/SIEM tools, ticketing systems, network automation/scripting (PowerShell/Python), and configuration management
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-domain incidents, coordinate escalations, and produce operational documentation and runbooks

Benefits

• Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000
• Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus
