Truck Shop Mechanic 3rd shift

Responsible for determining vehicle condition, performing maintenance and repairs, and keeping shop equipment operating. Maintains vehicle records and appearance, and keeps supplies ready. Enhances maintenance department reputation by accepting new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.

Requirements

• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions
• Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
• Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
