Early Head Start Teacher

Our Early Head Start Teachers play a vital role in nurturing the growth, development, and well-being of infants and toddlers (birth to age three) while honoring the cultural values, traditions, and strengths of the community.

Requirements

• Create and maintain a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for infants and toddlers.
• Plan and implement individualized and group learning experiences that support cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
• Integrate local Pomo culture, language, traditions, and community values into daily classroom activities and curriculum, in collaboration with families and community partners.
• Build respectful, trusting relationships with families and caregivers; encourage family engagement and participation in the classroom and program activities.
• Collaborate with family services, health, and disabilities staff to provide comprehensive, wraparound support to children and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
