The Pacific National Exhibition is seeking a Millwright to work under the direction of the Manager, Maintenance & Facilities. The successful candidate will have a passion for the Ride Attractions industry and the PNE, and will be responsible for rebuilding and/or repairing of rides & attractions, performing accurate and timely ride inspections, and maintaining all required service records and logs.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Grade 12
- Successful completion of post-Secondary training to a Trades Qualification (TQ) or equivalent industry experience
- Mechanic or Millwright license preferred
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 driver’s license
- Designated member of the High Angle Rescue team
- NARSO / AIMS license
- Experience in a diverse industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to work both day and afternoon shifts, weekends and holidays
- Proven abilities to problem solve, trouble shoot and work with deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ownership of tools and safety boots
- Exposure to machining equipment
- Diverse background trouble shooting hydraulics
- Welding experience (SMAW all position CWB certified welder/fitter)
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Occupational First Aid Level II
- Physical demands of the job including weights of up to 23kg, heights of 70m, frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, crawling and ability to work with ladders
