Job Description
The Veterans Service Administrator is a part-time position responsible for assisting veterans and their families with services and benefits available through the Veterans Affairs office, federal, state, and/or local legislation, and from private organizations.
Requirements
- Counsels and assists Veterans and/or their dependents regarding services and benefits available to them through the Veterans Affairs office, federal, state and/or local legislation, and from private organizations
- Assists Veterans with appeals of decisions regarding entitlements and benefits
- Maintains effective communication and relationships with Veterans, community and supportive agencies
- Coordinates events and meetings for the Veterans Board
- Manages Veteran budget and provides monthly budget report to the Board
- Maintains communication with the Veteran’s Board and Tribal Council
- Processes meeting stipends and mileage, and reconciles credit card changes
- Liaises with government procurement personnel and assists Veteran’s Committee in adherence to Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures
- Covers the office of Tribal Council phones and/or office, as needed
