Job Description
As an Associate Fire Protection Designer, you’ll support the design and coordination of fire protection systems that help protect buildings and the people inside them. This early-career role is ideal for someone looking to grow their technical expertise in fire suppression and fire alarm design while working alongside experienced engineers and designers.
Requirements
- Assist with the design and layout of fire protection systems, including fire suppression and fire alarm systems, under the guidance of senior engineers and designers
- Prepare and modify fire protection drawings, calculations, and design documentation
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, and local fire and building codes
- Review architectural and engineering plans to identify fire protection requirements and design constraints
- Utilize CAD and fire protection design software to support project deliverables
- Incorporate feedback from senior team members to improve design quality, accuracy, and efficiency
- Support coordination efforts with internal teams and external partners as needed
- Stay current with fire protection codes, standards, and industry best practices
