The CNC Programmer is responsible for quality programming of CNC machine tools, utilizing Mastercam and personal training to produce precision parts. They plan machining, create and modify programs, and perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
Requirements
- Modify and create programs
- Manage the setup of multiple machines for operator to run
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Monitor programs to follow blueprint instructions and safely complete tasks
- Prepare calculations for programming, including material cutting
- Write programs and modify existing ones for increased efficiency
- Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools for programs
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions
- Help machinists troubleshoot problems with machines and/or production runs
- Eliminate waste from processes
- Properly document all systems and processes, including parts run on CNCs
- Create and maintain the tool list for CNCs and ensure accuracy
- Evaluate timely all completed designs to validate their functions and reduce turn-around time
