We're looking for a Night Shift Quality Control Tech to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. As a Quality Technician, you'll be responsible for completing projects and guiding Production personnel with daily/weekly/monthly workflow and other tasks. You'll need strong organizational skills, ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer, and excellent data and computer skills.
Requirements
- Participate in, assist in, or help develop methods for testing and evaluation of processes
- Perform all required testing and report deviations as needed to appropriate parties for corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Compare results of inspections and tests to the company's quality standards, report results to Quality Manager for final analysis and action steps
- Evaluates data and places it into documents/spreadsheets in a logical fashion
- Tests inspect and approve raw materials based on established quality specifications
- Perform auditing on incoming/receiving material, process/production, and outgoing parts
- Perform assigned, routine visual inspections, and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products
- Use statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate the quality of full production batch before delivery to clients or customers
- Report daily Quality data/metrics/KPI's as needed
- Aid in disposition of non-conforming material alongside Extrusion manager/Quality manager
- Consults with Quality Manager to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products
- Tests limits on machines and products to determine failure points
- Investigates, communicates, and aids in resolve of customer complaints
- Maintains accurate records in the quality database
- Maintains gage calibrations, and associated records
- Performs testing on product samples, and reports data out in a logical fashion
- Performs work related audits accordingly
- Coaches and helps train team members on Quality related issues as they arise
