Counselor- Progress Place

Counselor position at Progress Place in Napa, CA. Provide support and assistance to clients of an adult psychiatric acute residential treatment program. Advocate for clients' treatment and rehabilitation needs. Perform various duties including group, individual, and family counseling, treatment plan development, and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience may be substituted for degree requirement
• Specific experience in residential treatment and/or knowledge of social rehabilitation is preferred
• At least one year's experience in a community mental health program is preferred
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Basic word processing skills
• Must demonstrate an acceptable level of maturity, good judgment and emotional stability
• Must be able to negotiate several flights of stairs and lift and carry 20lb packages multiple times during each work shift
