Provo City accepts lateral transfer applications from current firefighter/paramedics in other agencies at any time. Provo Fire & Rescue enjoys a cohesive and positive work environment with a strong desire to help each other succeed. The department has a state-of-the-art Heavy Rescue, two ladder trucks, two fire engines, five medic ambulances and three new type 6 brush trucks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current Paramedic License through the Utah State Bureau of EMS standards and have been employed in that capacity within the last 6 months
- Firefighter I & II certifications (NFPA and Utah Fire and Rescue Academy standards)
- A valid, lawful Utah State driver license
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a medical response firefighter (for Firefighter Paramedic level)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical response firefighter, 2 years of which must have been as a certified paramedic (for Senior Firefighter Paramedic level)
- Minimum 9 years of experience as a medical response firefighter (for Master Firefighter Paramedic level)
