Prysmian is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team in Rocky Mount, NC. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of all plant automation, control systems, and SCADA infrastructure. This role will provide expert support for PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, data systems, and machine troubleshooting, while also driving process improvements and supporting new equipment integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix & CompactLogix, Studio 5000, Ethernet/IP.
- Experience developing and troubleshooting HMI software/hardware (FactoryTalk View, InTouch, Red Lion, Ignition, or similar).
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, IP addressing, managed switches, VLANs, and communication protocols.
- Experience with VFDs (setup, tuning, integration).
- Ability to read, create, and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and machine documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work effectively on the plant floor and support production needs.
- Knowledge and ability to work safely with control and power voltages / currents.
