Shriver Supervising Attorney- Homelessness Prevention Project

Public Counsel is seeking a Shriver Supervising Attorney to oversee their Shriver Housing Project, a project authorized under the Shriver Civil Counsel Act (AB 590) that provides legal counsel to low-income litigants in unlawful detainer actions. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining case files, providing litigation support, and fostering client relationships. The project offers pro bono services to homeless individuals and families.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and licensed in California (preferred, but not required).
• 5+ years of relevant public interest law experience.
• Civil litigation experience, including jury trial experience.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Comfort with trauma-informed legal advocacy.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to commute throughout Los Angeles County
• Familiarity with unlawful detainer practices strongly preferred.
