Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer II to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, experience in planning, design, and project management, and a strong understanding of power system analysis programs. This role will involve performing studies and analyses to identify electric transmission system needs, developing infrastructure projects to support system reliability and performance, and ensuring compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and PSE's Open Access Transmission Tariff.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field.
- Experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating and scheduling.
- Organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Desired Qualifications: Experience working with both internal and external customers on projects, Familiar with codes and equipment utilized in the design and operation of utility systems, Experience with coordinating external consultants in the execution of a project, Possession of EIT certificate and ability to acquire PE license, Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices.
