Pursuit is hiring a VP of Finance to run Pursuit's finance function across its nonprofit, Public Benefit Corporation, and innovative Pursuit Bond. The VP of Finance will own and operate Pursuit's finance function end-to-end, ensuring a disciplined, repeatable planning, forecasting, and reporting cadence across the organization.
Requirements
- Senior finance leader with at least 3+ years of owning and running a tight, ongoing financial operation in a lean team
- 10+ years of overall finance experience, combining hands-on startup or nonprofit FP&A with prior experience in investment banking, strategic finance, or corporate finance
- Deep expertise in financial planning and strategic finance, including advanced forecasting, scenario analysis, risk management, and capital structuring
- Hands-on financial operator who can build and refine models yourself, while also developing a team and designing systems that scale
- Startup-minded and entrepreneurial, able to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and build scalable processes in a lean, high-growth environment
- Experience with or strong interest in nonprofit finance, including accounting, audits, government contracts, philanthropic funding, and mission-driven financial structures
- Comfortable leading revenue operations, connecting pipeline to projections to collections, and ensuring financial rigor across a growing organization
- Experienced in debt financing and capital management, including innovative funding structures, capital markets, and investor relations
- Strong executive presence, with experience partnering directly with CEOs, Boards, investors, and strategic partners, and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to diverse stakeholders verbally and through written reports
- Cross-functional leader who can influence strategy across finance, operations, legal, external affairs, and program teams
