The Senior Underwriter, Accident & Health will implement Accident & Health underwriting business strategy, aligning decisions with QBE’s risk appetite and growth objective, and drive new business production and renewal retention to maintain a profitable book of business.
Requirements
- 7+ years working experience within the insurance industry
- Degree or equivalent qualification preferable
- Strong level of numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization, analytical skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Extensive knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio
- Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge
- Intermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packages
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of QBE underwriting process and procedures
