Mechanical Design Engineer

Join Red Bull Powertrains as a Mechanical Design Engineer to shape the future of Formula 1 power unit technology. Design production equipment, jigs, and tools, and work on the mechanical design of tools for cell preparation, subsystem and battery cell testing, and MGU manufacturing and build.

Requirements

• Good Degree in Mechanical Engineering, similar discipline or equivalent experience
• Metallic component design experience required
• Appreciation of Manufacturing Processes from an automated system perspective
• Knowledge of Lithium-Ion batteries beneficial
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Experience of the fundamentals of mechanical design, including best practices for machining, fixings, sealed junctions, fabrication and surface treatments
• Ability to create designs from schemes through to completed part drawings
• Familiarity with CAD packages, Siemens NX experience preferable
• Previous experience of Cell tester or Cell manufacturing tools and equipment system design beneficial
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Cross-cultural working environment experience
• Full driving license and competence to drive in the UK
• PC literate
