The Specialist, Employee and Labour Relations will be responsible for implementing expert and proactive labour relations processes through providing highly specialized consultation and resolution services relating to grievances, mediations, collective bargaining and complex labour relations matters.
Requirements
- Completion of a post secondary degree in a related field with at least 5 years of labour relations experience
- Highly developed negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to resolve labour matters in a positive and collaborative fashion
- Highly developed counselling and resolution skills in labour relations techniques, best practices and the resolution of workplace issues
- Extensive experience with labour relations in a major, multi-union sector organization, including experience in arbitrations and mediations, Labour Board and/or related hearings
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively at all organizational levels
- Thorough knowledge of relevant laws, legislation, contractual obligations, and applicable policy and practice
