Job Description
We're looking for a Software Engineer III to join the Search Platform team within Elsevier's Search and AI Platform. The role is ideal for a strong backend engineer who is curious, eager to learn, and excited to work on large-scale, cloud-native systems. You'll contribute to the core services that power search across products such as Scopus or ScienceDirect, working on backend services, APIs, and platform components.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience in backend or platform roles
- Strong programming skills in Java, ideally using Spring / Spring Boot
- Experience delivering production-quality services in a cloud-based environment (preferably AWS)
- Familiarity with containerised applications and Kubernetes
