Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for leading and delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions for medical devices and related systems. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, influences technical direction, mentors other engineers, and ensures designs meet user needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Requirements
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional peers to define, develop, and deliver mechanical solutions
- Own the development of complex mechanical components and sub-systems from concept through to production
- Proactively communicate progress, technical risks, and mitigation strategies to peers, project leads, and stakeholders
- Take ownership of technical decisions within their scope
- Work effectively within a regulated medical device environment, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, design controls, risk management, and quality system requirements
- Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and constructive feedback
- Take ownership of ongoing professional and technical development
