An Ophthalmic Technician assists an Ophthalmologist in providing patient care by handling various duties and using equipment for initial testing. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent customer service, and the ability to anticipate Physician needs.
Requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA
- Verify patient information
- Record patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Perform diagnostic tests, including dilation, refraction, pressures, and visual fields
- Accurately document medical visits and procedures
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain examination rooms and supplies
- Perform general office duties and cleaning
