Postdoctoral Research Associate in Extragalactic Astrophysics

The Department of Physics at Rhodes College invites applications for a postdoctoral position in observations of AGN and feedback with JWST. The successful applicant will work on two Cycle 4 spectroscopic programs to observe AGN at Cosmic Noon and “restarted” radio galaxies, and will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate researchers and teach up to two courses per year in physics and/or astronomy.

Requirements

• PhD in physics, astronomy, or a related field
• Experience modeling near- and/or mid-infrared spectra of galaxies, particularly with JWST
• Ability to mentor undergraduate researchers and teach physics and/or astronomy courses
