Commissioning Technologist

Rising Edge Group is an electrical contracting company seeking a Commissioning Technologist to commission and test primary and secondary power equipment in the field. The successful candidate will have experience in field testing and commissioning, and will be responsible for mentoring and educating apprentices, as well as setting up and operating test equipment to diagnose and analyze the performance of power delivery equipment.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Field Testing and Commissioning
• Past supervisory experience will be an asset
• Experience in substation, including 144kV and 240kV
• Familiarity with relay testing and testing software
• Competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work safely and in adverse weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Ability to work comfortably at heights
• Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision
