The Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial success of projects by partnering with Operations, Project Management, and Finance teams.
Requirements
- Manage project financials, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
- Support the change order process, including documentation, cost analysis, and system updates.
- Perform project cost transfers and adjustments to ensure accurate job costing.
- Assist with procurement activities, including material sourcing, and vendor coordination.
- Utilize document management tools (e.g., DocuSign) to route, track, and store critical project documentation.
- Prepare and maintain project cost reports for Project Managers and leadership.
- Manage project billing, including preparation and submission of AIA billing documents.
- Track, prepare, and submit Accounts Payable (AP) payment requests, ensuring proper approvals and timely processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support month-end close activities related to project accounting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Accounting Manager or Vice President of Accounting & Finance.
