Cyber Research Software Engineer II

RTX Corporation is seeking a Cyber Research Software Engineer II to develop systems and software to deter and defeat adversaries. The role will involve advanced software development in C, implementing software and systems across various architectures and operating systems, and analyzing systems to understand how they work and what happens when they break. The candidate will also develop unique networking protocols and communication schemes, and operationalize code by thoroughly testing, documenting, and integrating with sponsor systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• Minimum 2 years prior relevant experience
• Programming skills in one or more of: C, C++, Rust, Java, or Python
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance
• Experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership
• Experience with assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.)
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP stacks, wire-level protocols, RF communications, BGP, etc.)
• Familiarity with security concepts (confidentiality/integrity/availability, authentication/authorization, etc.)
• Reverse engineering skills using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja
• Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in relevant technology topics
