Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Minor Vessel Capability for the Australian Defence Force. The role involves conducting engineering changes, planning and leading assigned engineering projects, and applying demonstrated experience in developing platform engineering changes.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
- Professional development sufficient to attain Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) recognition with Engineers Australia
- Minimum of five (5) yearsâ relevant experience in mechanical discipline activities
- Experience developing and reviewing mechanical engineering documentation
- Experience in mechanical design and maintenance of maritime vessels
- Experience in Configuration Management
- Knowledge of statutory regulations and Classification rule sets
- Ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels
