Principal Materials Engineer (Material Program Lead)

The Materials and Process Engineering Department is seeking a Principal Materials Engineer (Material Program Lead) to support program hardware design and development and production activities in Andover, MA. The role involves evaluation of materials and processes, working closely with design personnel, and collaborating with suppliers.

Requirements

• Evaluation of materials and processes based on conformance to specifications and design and performance requirements
• Working closely with design personnel in the selection and approval of materials and finishes in new and updated designs
• Supporting product production and supplier support activities
• Providing evaluation and resolution to technical, operational, and supplier problems related to materials and processes
• Participate in analysis and documentation of technical positions for alternate materials, obsolescence, and failure analysis
• Ensure labor costs and estimated completion schedules provided by the Materials and Process Engineering Sections are negotiated, understood, and meet product/program commitments
