This role involves designing, developing, and deploying COTS-based and custom-designed systems for air traffic control. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will work on next-generation Air Traffic Control systems and lead or participate in peer reviews to ensure technical integrity.
Requirements
- Perform analysis, qualification and acceptance testing on components, assemblies, mechanical fixtures and/or structures
- Perform and/or oversee preliminary and detailed design activities, ensuring the technical integrity of products meeting all program requirements
- Lead or participate as an independent reviewer in peer reviews to ensure documented processes are followed, work products are validated for producibility and affordability, and proper documentation standards are followed
- Conduct testing activities in the lab in support of Engineering Change Proposals
- Mentor junior engineers along the development cycle of a product, instilling engineering excellence by capturing lessons learned and documenting best practices
- Interface with other disciplines (Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain) in support of product development
- Opportunities to lead hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals
