We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about the development of electronics equipment enclosures and integration of items into rack level assemblies. This position will provide an opportunity for ownership of budget and schedule as well as coordination with a highly cross-functional team to ensure quality and compliance of designs throughout the entirety of their lifecycles.
Requirements
- Communicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers as well as non-technical team members.
- Conduct and provide constructive feedback during peer reviews.
- Mentor and document knowledge to provide technical guidance to both members of own team and beyond.
- Coordinate with drafting for the creation of drawings, along with providing review and redline of drawings for machined & sheet metal parts.
- Interface with a cross functional team, such as Electrical and Systems engineering, to ensure requirements compliance throughout the entirety of a product’s lifecycle.
- Work proactively with an integrated product team (IPT) to manage project scope and budget, as well as identify risks and opportunities.
- Participate in and lead investigations into highly complex, open-ended tasks.
- Create military compliant designs that incorporate custom machined/sheet metal parts with a selection of commercial off the shelf items as required.
- Contribute to prototyping and testing activities to verify product requirements compliance.
