Job Description
Rugged Science is seeking a full-time CNC machinist to fabricate high-quality industrial and military products using 3D models. The role involves designing tooling, operating CNC mills, and maintaining safety standards. Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Machinist will assist with prototype processing and follow company procedures.
Requirements
- Evaluating 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturability
- Designing tooling and fixturing for production parts
- Creating tool paths in CAM software (currently use Fusion 360)
- Creating tooling for existing products to improve quality and manufacturability
- Setting up and operating a HAAS CNC mill (VF3)
- Strictly adhering to all safety requirements
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Assist in processing prototypes and special orders
- Provide feedback to leadership regarding fabrication limitations and best practices
- Follow Company procedures regarding material movement
- Report directly to the Shop Manager
